Diryah Roads public realm case study

Saudi Landscape delivered a flagship public-realm landscape package for Diriyah Gate Company Limited / DGDA, covering design, supply, build, operation and maintenance across 7km of prime road corridors, roundabouts and public-realm areas in Historic Diriyah.

Scope

• Design, supply, build, operation and maintenance.
• Road median, roadside landscape and landmark roundabout upgrades.
• Soil improvement, planting, irrigation network redesign and automatic irrigation installation.
• Native and Riyadh-suitable palms, trees, shrubs and groundcovers.
• Biodiversity-support features including bird baths and animal bowls.
• Tree up-lighting and automated water/lighting coordination.

Major work areas

Prince Sattam Road, Khozama Road and Khozama Terraces, Flag Roundabout, Wooden Gate Underpass, Banana Roundabout and Area 1.

Challenges

The project required work around existing infrastructure, prime roads, public safety constraints and an accelerated delivery schedule.
